Initiation Cowl Kit by Dear Ingenue

Initiation marks the crossing of a threshold into new knowledge and abilities. Also known as “the act of beginning something,” of being reborn, or a rite of passage. Open the door to learning new skills with this double-sided cowl. If you are unfamiliar with any of these techniques, this is a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself and proudly emerge on the other side with a hard-earned work of wearable art!

The Initiation Cowl by Dear Ingenue is worked in the round as one piece and grafted closed at the end. A “ridge” round is completed in the middle of the work to encourage the fabric to fold. The double-sided, double-thick fabric is incredibly cozy and comfortable. Completely reversible, this cowl features a unique design on both inside and out. Charts as well as written instructions are available for the patterning. Our kit includes enough yarn to make the small size cowl.

Provisional cast-on, knit, purl, lifeline (optional), stranded knitting, garter stitch, Kitchener (grafting)
