Contemporary Stranded Colorwork

Knit bold contemporary looks using the principles of traditional Fair Isle knitting. Mary Jane will share her love of stranded knitting by embracing traditional techniques that simplify the work while modernizing the look with graphic geometric shapes and a contemporary take on color. We will create a sampler using Mary Jane's Flying Geese Cowl as a template, experimenting with color and shapes. Mary Jane will help guide your color choices and offer tips on stranded knitting techniques. MJ includes an extra page of pattern motifs.

Homework
On larger needle, with any color you like (or Charcoal if following Flying Geese pattern), cast on 120 sts. Join for working in the round and work k1,p1 rib (or any non-curling edge) for 1 inch.
