Introduction to the Indigo Vat & Resist Dyeing
Have you ever witnessed the magic of an indigo dye vat? This is your chance. Join us as Connie hosts a one-hour, in-shop introduction workshop and experience what a thrill natural indigo dyeing can be!
Everything is prepared in advance, so class can begin right away.
After a brief tutorial on what indigo is, and how the dyeing process works, you'll select one 100g hank of yarn (there are a lot of varieties to choose from) and you will soak your yarn. Connie will show you a few ways to do resist dyeing, including a few Shibori folds. You will then use what you have learned on your choice of a silk pillow cover or a scarf!
.
Once the workshop is complete, you will be on your way with (still wet) projects in a bag, and instructions on how to wash them at home.
Students will also receive a coupon good for that day to save
20% off un-dyed yarns, fabrics and dye related products!
(Books are excluded)
Classes are limited to 6 students per session and will be held outside under a tent, weather permitting. If the weather does not cooperate, class will be held in our spacious dye lab.
The class fee also includes:
one 100g hank of undyed yarn (many weights to choose from)
and
your choice of a silk zippered pillow cover or scarf .
